Job description

Agricultural product: Parsley, cilantro, beets, leeks, radish, bok choy, napa, spring-mix, kale, cabbage, fennel, spinach, green onion, and mix lettuce.

Agricultural Produce Delivery Drivers Workers to perform the following duties in field and on the farm:

Agricultural Produce Delivery Workers (Truck Drivers):
Drive large Semi Trucks (26,000 pounds or higher) and be required to pick up loaded trailers with parsley, cilantro, beets, leeks, radish, bok choy, napa, spring-mix, kale, cabbage, fennel, spinach, green onion and mix lettuce in the field and deliver to customers. Truck drivers will return packing containers from customers to the field. Truck drivers will load harvest equipment and move from field to field. This activity is secondary agriculture under the Fair Labor Standards Act as it is in conjunction with and incidental to Sabor Farms’ farming operations.

Truck Drivers task include but are not limited to; conduct daily pre-trip inspection on vehicle and document/report maintenance needs, fuel Semi-Truck, clean and wash truck as needed. Truck Driver will secure loads and transport parsley, cilantro, beets, leeks, radish, bok choy, napa, spring-mix, kale, cabbage, fennel, spinach, green onion and mix lettuce from fields to customers. Truck driver’s tasks include un-tie loads, remove v-bords and tarps upon delivery, drive a tractor trailer and back up to loading docks. Load and transport equipment on lowboy and complete daily log books.

Truck Drivers will also transport equipment to and from Sabor Farms Shop located at 1750 E 20th St Yuma, AZ 85365 to the Sabor Farms Shop located at 1375 Burton Ave Salinas, CA 93901. This activity will occur at the end of the season when all equipment must be moved back. The workers will return to company housing each day at either of the housing locations listed in Hollister, California or Yuma, Arizona in compliance with §655.130 (e)(1).

Truck Drivers may also transport employees to yard, store, bank, doctor, hospital, and any other place considered necessary by Sabor Farms.

Truck drivers will also deliver parsley, cilantro, beets, leeks, radish, bok choy, napa, spring-mix, kale, cabbage, fennel, spinach, green onion and mix lettuce to storage/packing facilities. This activity is also secondary agriculture under the Fair Labor Standards Act as it is in conjunction with and incidental to Sabor Farms’ farming operations. Sabor Farms plants, harvests, and owns the crop that is transported from the fields to the shed and customer sites.

If an employee is injured while on the job, the Company will provide a temporary work assignment that will be as closely related to the job duties described herein, while the employee recovers from a work-related illness which meets with physician’s clearance to return to work under specific limitations. The work assignment will not be a permanent position, it will be temporary to accommodate the injured worker under doctor's restrictions and time period that may differ from the heavy field work described within.

Special Requirements

Minimum Job Qualifications:

Workers are required to possess a US Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or foreign equivalent (Licencia Federal de Conductor - LFC) and have 1 year of experience as a Semi-Truck Driver (26,000 pounds or higher). Commercial Drivers require physical coordination, decision-making ability, mechanical aptitude and driving skills. Commercial Drivers are expected to be able to maintain precise control of objects and devices through a range of movements.
