Job description
Attend to live farm, ranch animals that include cattle; Duties include feeding, watering, herding,
grazing, castrating, branding, catching, and loading animals; Deliver feed to cattle such as hay,
silage, cubes, mixed feed to supplement diet; Operate, repair irrigation; Examine animals to detect
diseases and injuries; Administer medications, vaccinations, etc. as appropriate; Drive trucks,
tractors, and other equipment to distribute feed to animals; Inspect, maintain, prepare, and repair
livestock facilities, buildings, pens, yards, and fences; Load commodities, inputs, or livestock and
drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities; Trap pests; Haul and spread fertilizer and
other materials to condition soil; Attach equipment using hand tools; Guide products onto conveyers
to regulate flow; Move livestock from one location to another; Clean water tanks, pens.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Employment may be terminated for the following reasons: Repeated absenteeism or tardiness. Violation of safety protocols. Failure to perform job duties satisfactorily. Misconduct or insubordination. Substance abuse on the job and operating machinery and vehicles.
