Job description
Workers will perform any combination of the following tasks, attend to cattle, clean water troughs, attend to pastures and/or fields, examine animals to detect diseases and injuries, spray insecticide, assist with castration, clip identifying notches, brand or clip tags on animals, clean around barns, trim trees, clear roads of debris, repair fences, maintain fence line, maintain landscape around headquarters, load, unload and corral cattle. Workers will operate tractors to prepare the fields, plow, and plant crops. This is a calf-cow/backgrounder operation and requires seasonal workers when the calves are brought in as year-lings and then sold. There is no work in June-November. 3 months of experience operating tractors and handling cattle is required for the safety of the workers and cattle. Workers that posses a drivers license will drive farm trucks at the work site and in the fields.
Special Requirements
Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. These hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity. Use of electronic devices during work hours is restricted to emergencies only.
