Job description

At the conclusion of the growing season and throughout the winter will clean, sanitize and prepare all farm machinery including 5 commercial trucks, 4 commercial vans, 3 passenger buses, 14 tractors and various other equipment for winter storage. Prepare vehicles and equipment for spring planting and other seasonal usages.

Clean and repair high tunnels over winter including the placement of wooden and/or steel braces to support snow loads. Clearing & cleaning of heavy snowfall during and after snowstorms from structures and lanes between structures to include farm roads and lanes in addition. Repair and/or replace any damaged high tunnels due to wind storm damage. This can include repair/replacement of plastic, doors.

Regularly clear and clean snow off 220 high tunnels + 6 nursery greenhouses.
Clean, sanitize and maintain storage facilities through the winter. Will perform deep cleaning on empty greenhouses to include removal of grow tables and other structure structures to facilitate disinfectant cleaning.

On a regularly scheduled basis check temperatures of storage units and make sure AC units are working correctly and report status to management/supervisor(s).
Monitor storage crop holding areas for quality of product. Cull and remove product that begin to show stages of decay or decomposition to maintain quality of remaining product.

Prepare all structures- greenhouses/high tunnels for following seasons plantings.
Due to health and safety concerns relating to use of sanitizing/sterilizing solutions and the operation of equipment on our farm, workers are required to have the ability to comprehend simple oral and written instructions. After hiring, employer may conduct random drug tests at employer’s expense. Must be physically able to lift up to 80 pounds *Workers referred against this order must have a minimum of 2 months experience in performing tasks described in this order.

Special Requirements

a. Workers must be able to demonstrate that they are physically able to perform the work as described.
b. The employer will provide 0 days of training for workers.
c. Employer may require worker to perform any available general farm work if the guarantee referenced in Section 17a Additional Assurance for Clearance Orders is invoked.
d. Employer may terminate worker with timely notification to the NPC and DHS, if the worker: 1) Refuses, without cause, to perform work for which the worker was recruited and hired; 2) Commits serious acts of misconduct;; or 3) Abandons Job (Job Abandonment) is absent for five consecutive previously scheduled days without prior notification to employer.
