Job description
Identifying sick cattle
Removing sick cattle from pastures
Treating sick cattle
Feeding cattle
Moving cattle to, and from, different pastures as loads ship
Sorting cattle according to sizes, and moving them to the appropriate pastures where cattle are all averaging the same weight and size
Process cattle with any vaccines, or fly dope that me be required
Help ship cattle on all shipping dates
Occasional fencing
Stall cleaning
Feeding and watering horses
Turning horses in, and out.
Special Requirements
Employee must be able to adequetly identify, and remove sick cattle from pastures. They must be able to safely administer drugs required for the sick cattle being treated. They must have awareness and knowledge of the safety hazards while handling livestock. They must have sorting, herding sense and experience, both on the ground, and horseback. Employee must have sufficient equine experience as we use horses to sort and check cattle. Being able to operate a tractor is considered an asset as it may be required to preform other duties on the ranch such as; removing deceased cattle, loading the bucket with feed sacks, spreading manure. Employee must be tedious and efficient in the work they do, especially when it comes to cleaning horse stalls, and identifying sick cattle.
