Job description
Dounoco Land Company owns 140 acres of Blueberry orchards, and the blueberry plants are dormant from December thru February. This is the only time of the year that dead or diseased plants may be removed and replaced with new plants. This is a time consuming and labor-intensive task that must be completed during the dormant life cycle of the blueberry plants. Job duties will include: dig, cut, and transplant seedlings, cuttings, trees, and shrubs, inform farmers or farm managers of crop progress, move containerized shrubs, plants, and trees, using wheelbarrows or tractors, operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment, clean equipment or facilities, cut trees or logs, operate farming equipment, operate irrigation systems, plant crops, or other plants.
Special Requirements
Employer will conduct post-hire drug tests at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Job requires frequent stooping or bending over, repetitive movements. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must have a regular driver's license. Requires 3 months farm experience.
