Job description
Workers are required to wash, disinfect, and bake livestock trailers each time a trailer leaves the livestock confinement. Workers will work in livestock confinements in limited shift sizes. Workers will be required to work inside the livestock confinements to disinfect and clean the buildings. Workers will clean, sanitize, and disinfect chutes, tractors, pumping equipment, crop farming equipment, vehicles, and trailers, which are all on the farm. Furthermore, workers will remove snow from around the livestock confinements and remove snow on farm roads. Workers will be required to disinfect the snow removal equipment after each use. Workers will be required to remove/transport dead/living livestock. Workers may assist supervisors in communicating information regarding work duties and requirements and instructing other workers in and related work activities. Workers may serve as the lead worker in small crews.
All workers that have a valid driver's license must agree to and comply with the employer's fleet policy agreement prior to driving any company vehicles. Workers shall not drive a company vehicle unless written permission is provided to employee. Drivers may be entitled to additional compensation for properly maintaining company vehicles. Drivers will be paid drive time hours at the Average Earning Wage Rate (AEWR) for the state in which work is performed. Workers with the appropriate licensing may safely transport workers to and from the housing and worksite location. Workers may perform farm work duties when not transporting. No applicants or workers will be rejected for not possessing a driver’s license or who may be unwilling to drive company vehicles. Such duties are completely optional and may be declined by the worker at his or her sole discretion. The Employer can and will make alternative arrangements for the transportation of workers should the need arise.
Special Requirements
3 months of experience working with livestock. Workers must have the ability to lift and carry 75 pounds for 75 yards. Workers must be able to follow detailed biosecurity protocol. Employer reserves the right to conduct employer-paid post-hire drug testing to every new hire. Drug testing can also be random, upon suspicion or post-accident in accordance with state law. Any employee who declines to take or fails a drug test will be immediately terminated.
