Job description

Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery such as tractor, hay
baler, silage harvester, swather, rake for growing and harvesting crops; Inspect, maintain,
prepare, frame, repair equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards, and fences; Care for
cattle on the farm during the winter weather including frigid temperatures, sleet, snow, rain;
Feed cattle with tractor and feed wagon daily; Unload calves from the truck; Administer
medicine topically, orally or via syringe or hypodermic needle while calf is in the chute; Load
feed wagon using mechanized feed system and pay loader; Monitor calves for disease and
injury; Separate sick calves from pen and administer treatment; Maintain processing and
treatment records; Weigh and load cattle; Clean/maintain feeding equipment and water
systems; Pile and remove snow; Monitor/repair water system to ensure water is flowing
efficiently and not frozen; Drive farm vehicle; Minor daily and incidental upkeep to equipment,
buildings and worksite; Must speak English.

Special Requirements

Be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat, humidity, wind, cold. Lift and carry supplies.
Follow instructions. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the
worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license within 30 days following hire and obtain clean
driving record to be able to operate company vehicle. Lift up to 50 lbs.
