Job description

Our daily routines consist of:
Maintain watering systems, including freezing prevention and or repairs because of freezing.
Proper handling of calves and cows in various pregnancy and birthing stages, with additional care to accommodate cold and or freezing temperatures at the time.
Processing (sorting) of calves to include sorting and taking care of sick animals in need of application of pharmaceuticals with ongoing treatment per protocol.
Operating equipment to haul hay using tractors and wagons.
Maintenance of farm equipment and animal housing areas

Job duties include the following, but are not limited to:
Feeding, watering, herding, castrating, branding, weighing, catching and loading cattle.
Examining animals to detect diseases, injuries and ensure that they are in optimal health.
Assisting in birthing, administering medications, vaccinations, or insecticides.
Monitor corn stalk fields for grazing purposes and determine whether mother cows and calves should move to new grazing fields. Assist in moving animals to grazing fields.
Hauling feed from trailers to cows and calves.
Use various farming equipment like tractors, feed wagon, payloader and skid loader.

Special Requirements

A minimum of three (3) months of verifiable experience required.
Workers will perform manual and physical work requiring extensive pushing, pulling, sitting or walking, frequent stooping, bending over and movements might be repetitive. Job duties include lifting of agricultural tools and equipment that weigh up to 50lbs. Most work is performed outdoors and workers will be exposed to extreme cold weather conditions like blizzards and snow.
Workers must obtain a driver's license within 30 days after employment.
