Job description
We are a cow calf operation and in the warmer months the cattle are out grazing so require less care. During the winter months we need seasonal assistance calving the cows from December until February. During this period cattle are confined for calving and need daily feeding and care. We have a livestock auction in February, and this requires lots of additional labor to get the livestock ready for sale. During our off season we do not need any assistance because the crops are growing, and no care of livestock is needed. Job duties will include: operate tractors, manure spreaders, operate other farm equipment, observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment.
Special Requirements
Job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, frequent stooping or bending over, and repetitive movements. Employer will conduct post-hire criminal background checks at no cost to the employee and will not employ anyone with a felony/theft criminal background as required by the workplace safety policy and company hiring practices as allowed by law. Employer will conduct post-hire drug tests at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Must be able to lift 100 lb calves. Must have a regular driver's license. Requires 3 months farm experience.
