Job description

Job Duties for Commodity Plant and Farm Operations:

The worker will perform a variety of tasks associated with the operation and maintenance of a commodity handling plant, grain mills, and general farm activities. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Facility Operations and Maintenance: Conduct daily maintenance and repairs on facilities, grain handling equipment, and machinery to ensure proper functioning and safety. This includes the lubrication, adjustment, and minor repairs of machinery and equipment.

Commodity Handling: Move commodities such as grain and other agricultural products within the facility using forklifts, conveyors, and other machinery. Assist with loading and unloading trucks, and ensure proper storage and quality control of all products.

Grain Processing and Clean-out: Perform grain drying, cleaning, and conditioning operations. Monitor equipment, maintain proper temperatures and moisture levels, and clean out bins and silos as needed to prevent contamination.

Snow Removal and Site Maintenance: Remove snow and debris from facility grounds to maintain a safe and operational work environment during winter months. Operate skid loaders, tractors, or snowplows as needed.

Fertilizer Handling and Storage Assistance: Assist with the storage, handling, and transportation of fertilizers and other agricultural inputs.

Compliance and Safety: Follow all safety protocols, OSHA standards, and company policies to ensure a safe work environment. Participate in regular safety training and inspections.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Employment may be terminated for the following reasons: Repeated absenteeism or tardiness. Violation of safety protocols. Failure to perform job duties satisfactorily. Misconduct or insubordination. Substance abuse on the job and operating machinery and vehicles.
