Job description

Performs any of the following tasks to attend to livestock: Checking fences daily. Maintaining
fences and clearing snow away from gates, feed bunks and waterers. Clearing snow from
shelter areas to maintain access. De-icing water tanks and automatic waterers. Hauling water
to cattle in remote pastures. Hauling feed to pasture cattle. Clearing feed bunks from
accumulated snow and frozen fees. Clearing farm roads to provide access for milk hauler and
feed and fuel deliveries. Clearing local roads to provide access for employees. Inspecting
cattle for illness and injuries, treating or removing them as necessary. Sorting pasture cattle.
Moving cattle to and from pasture. Maintaining doors, buildings and gates as affected by winter
weather. Cleaning bedding and maintaining calf housing. Preparing equipment for spring field
work. Drive to town to pick up cattle supplies.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires
drug screen post hire at employers expense due to the liability of operating equipment. Failure to pass drug screen will result in
termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures.
Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Overtime and taking holiday is mandatory. Wage rate may increase with
verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his
sole discretion.
