Job description

The job duties are as follow but are not limited to:
Check grain bins on weekly basis for moisture, temperature and proper function.
Log results for each bin system.
Based on log results workers must determine whether grain is ready for delivery.
This process involves handling of equipment like fans, heaters, stir augers - switching it on/off and move from one bin to another.
Maintain grain bin system area to be clean, all spills picked up and processed.
Maintain any breaks or leaks with grain bin system - notify manager of all breaks/leaks.
Weekly lube of grain bin system.
Check grain bin system after each weather event.
Climbing up to the top checking each lid looking for leaks.
Service of all grain equipment.
Clean bin floor once it is low - insert the equipment to clean the floor. It is called a sweep auger.
Once the sweep is in place the workers use scoops and push brooms to move the grain to the auger.
Loading of grain haul truck and trailers.
Inspection of grain haul truck to ensure readiness for road and delivery.
Maintenance of trucks and trailers.

Special Requirements

Minimum of three (3) months verifiable experience required.
Workers must be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire.
Job duties require physical and manual labor and may require workers to push, pull, sit and walk extensively or may require frequent stooping and bending over.
Job duties may also require workers to lift agricultural tools and equipment that weigh up to 75 pounds.
Most work is performed outdoors and workers will be exposed to winter weather conditions like extreme cold temperatures and in some instances conditions like snow, ice and sleet.
