Job description

Following the Supervisors instructions, the worker will perform the following tasks:

Bus Driver: Pick up workers at living quarters and transport workers to work site. Worker’s responsibilities will consist of transporting workers using a specified route on specific schedules depending upon production needs. The role of the Bus Driver will require adherence to DOT safety regulations, safe vehicle maintenance, as well as several farm responsibilities while not transporting workers during work shift. Drivers are required to take workers once a week to the bank, grocery store, and to the laundromat. Worker’s responsibilities may be comprised of inspecting a vehicle, checking gas, oil, and water levels. Reporting and coordinating minor repairs to vehicles such as changing tires and following all maintenance scheduled requirements. Fifteen percent of the workers time encompass completing daily logs to document all passengers, mileage driven, vehicle inspections, use of gas cards, GPS and vehicle as specified by program, as well as reporting all safety incidents.

Bus driver maybe assigned to transport workers in a van.

Workers who drive farm vehicles requiring license will receive a reimbursement up to a maximum of 600 USD by receipt of proof of payment.

Agricultural Equipment Operator: May operate a farm vehicle such as a pickup truck to a flatbed to move the harvest trailer inside of the farm as necessary during the workday. May be assigned to load agricultural products into a farm truck and drive it to the storage facility that is between 1.5 miles to a maximum of 16 miles from the farm. Occasionally may have to move portable restrooms by hauling around the farm for a closer distance for the workers during working day.

Farm Equipment Operation: May be necessary to assist in the use or operation of farm equipment such as tractors, trucks and harvest machinery.

Tractor driving: May be assigned to drive tractors.

Irrigation Pumps: May be assigned to turn on water pumps for irrigation as instructed by their manager. Ensure that the irrigation systems are running properly. Inject fertilizer and chemicals as instructed by the manager.

Mow Lawn: Workers may be assigned to mow lawn with a motorized lawn mower as a zero-turn riding mower, weed eater, etc.

Forklift Driving: May be assigned to drive a forklift to load agricultural products on a truck.

Tractor Spraying: May be assigned to load spray tank, mix chemicals and spray the crop according to the supervisor's instructions and label requirements of the given pesticides.

Workers who drive farm vehicles requiring a driver’s license will receive reimbursement by receipt of proof of payment.

May assist with basic equipment maintenance such as greasing parts, cleaning vehicle, checking tire pressure, checking oil and, notifying the supervisor when machinery malfunctions.

Special Requirements

The employer will request a criminal background check at the employer's expense. The first 7 working (business) days of employment are considered as an introductory period as set forth in the Company Employee Handbook. This will be time to learn and understand tasks involved in the job position.
