Job description
Daily care and livestock feeding to ensure that proper rations are loaded and fed to livestock.
Including assisting in calving. These calving duties include monitoring cattle for calving
difficulties and health problems, bedding, and cleaning the pens of the cattle.
The employer owns 100% of the livestock held at the facility. No livestock is sold, owned, or raised by other livestock producers. All animals at the feedlot are exclusively owned by the employer. After being held and cared for at the feedlot, the livestock is typically sent to pasture or for market sale. The length of time livestock is held at the feedlot can vary based on their condition and market readiness, but generally, livestock remains at the feedlot for an average of 120-180 days.
Special Requirements
3 months of verifiable experience in livestock duties is required. Must be able to provide references to verify experience. Applicants must be available for the entire contract period. Able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively. Employer-paid post-hire, random, upon suspicion, and post-accident drug testing required. Any worker who declines to take or fails a mandatory drug test will be terminated. No high school education is required. To ensure the safety of the communities surrounding our operations and maintain transparency, the Employer requires all newly hired employees to take and pass an employer-paid background check. All background checks are conducted uniformly after an initial job offer has been extended and accepted by the new hire.
