Job description

Receiving cows and heifers, caring for cows by breaking ice in water troughs, feeding cattle, moving cows through various pens to sort for calving, monitor animal health daily; assisting with calving mother cows and heifers; processing calves by administering medicine, numbering calves, sorting calves to be taken to market and sold; clean machinery using air compressor and water hose to remove wheat and corn heads, seeds, stems, and chaff, disassemble machinery using hand labor, inspect all wear parts; clean and organize shop space for winter storage, replace worn or broken parts, reassemble, grease all fittings and bearings using hand pump gun; begin inspecting equipment for use; clean shop by sweeping, applying buckets of oil absorbent onto shop floor, inflate tires to correct pressure, check fluid levels; removing and installing pins in draw bars, hooking and unhooking hydraulic couplers, run at operating RPM and inspect moving part; driving pickup to procure supplies for caring for calves; must speak English.

Special Requirements

Be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat, humidity, wind, cold. Lift and carry supplies. Follow instructions. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license within 30 days following hire and obtain clean driving record to be able to operate company vehicle. Lift up to 50 lbs.
