Job description

Duties may include: Loading and unloading bees using a forklift, lifting bee colonies and transporting to pallets, removing honey boxes from hives, feeding and treating bees with medicine, inspecting bee colonies to determine strength and overall health, Some shifts will vary depending on bees life cycle and will be performed in the evening or early morning hours instead of regular work hours. Be prepared for mosquitoes, fire ants and other native species. Must be able to stand for long periods of time in varying weather conditions & other related Beekeeper activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org). Possible weekend/holiday work. Shift times may vary depending on weather or hive activity.

Special Requirements

Must be 18 due to equipment use. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 80lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Variable weather conditions may apply. Worker must be able to obtain a standard valid US Driver's License within 2 weeks of reporting to work. The employer will cover all costs of obtaining the license. Worker must not be allergic to bees, pollen, or honey.
