Job description
Feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies. Herd livestock to scales, trucks, or other enclosures. Maintain heated watering system. Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards, and fences. Move equipment or livestock from one location to another, manually or using trucks or carts. Clean stalls, pens, and equipment, using disinfectant solutions, brushes, shovels, water hoses, or pumps. Mix feed, additives, fill feed troughs with feed and water for livestock. Keep feeding area free of debris and manure. Read ration sheets. Maintain growth, feeding, production, and cost records. Operate snow removal equipment in order to operate feed wagons. Remove ice formed in water. Drive pick-up truck to town for cattle supplies on occasion. Operate manure truck. Operate feed truck, feed wagon, loader tractor, pay-loader, skid steer, and box scrapper.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
