Job description

The job duties requested are only performed during the winter months when equipment is removed from field work and crop farming for the growing season and the machinery is no longer in use. The job duties will require the position to perform the following tasks: operating non CDL farm trucks to transport crops from storage areas to market as needed; hauling rock piles off fields while the ground is frozen and clearing trees from field edges when the ground is frozen.; preseason land clearing and tree removal on the farm; installing drainage tiles to lower soil moisture levels for optimal crops maturation; winterizing all farm equipment and vehicles for which it is required; prepare equipment for upcoming use in the spring; clean equipment, parts, or tools to keep them in good working order; install machine or equipment replacement parts; repair worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts; and snow and ice removal from equipment yard. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.

Special Requirements

Drug screening may be done post hire at the employer's expense to ensure the safety of all workers on the farm. Failure of drug testing may result in termination of employment. Operating equipment in the field may require extensive sitting or walking. Moderate cell phone use is allowed at the worksite. Non-smoking strictly prohibited.
