Farm Laborer

Job description

Workers will perform various agricultural tasks in open fields, including harvesting, picking, and boxing tomatoes, chiles, and pumpkins. They will carefully hand-pick the produce or use small tools to ensure it is collected without bruising or damage. Once harvested, workers will sort the produce by quality and size before packing it into boxes or crates. These boxes will be properly labeled, organized, and prepared for pickup by wholesalers, with workers responsible for stacking and securing them for transport.

In addition to harvesting, workers will be responsible for maintaining the fields by clearing plant debris, weeds, and any remaining crops to prepare the area for replanting. This task may involve the use of hand tools or light machinery. After the fields are cleared, workers will assist with the replanting process, which includes preparing the soil, transplanting, and watering to support the next growing cycle of tomatoes, chiles, and pumpkins.

Special Requirements

Workers must be physically fit to work in the agricultural field, even in unpleasant weather conditions. The job requires walking, standing, bending, and lifting to 50 lbs.
