Job description

Upkeep and repair of the facility’s ammonia refrigeration systems including but not limited to: tunnel freezers and blast cell freezers, ice making equipment, plate freezers & other related Refrigeration Technician (Cooling and Freezing equipment operators and tenders) activities as per SOC/OES 51-9193 (onetonline.org). Multiple possible shifts: 8:00PM-8:00AM or 8:00AM-8:00PM. Standard/Expected Schedule: Monday-Saturday 8:00PM-8:00AM or 8:00AM-8:00PM, based on business needs, with the option of one day off per week. Offering 40+ (plus) hours per week; not including applicable meal breaks. Requires weekend/holiday work. Start/end times, offered hours and/or overtime could vary as they may be dependent upon other factors such as project/schedule/service needs, weather, and commute time between worksites (if applicable). Delayed or lack of delivery and availability of seafood product from fisherman may result in possible downtime without work.

Special Requirements

Must be 18 due to equipment use. Must show proof of legal authority to work in the U.S. Drug/Alcohol/Tobacco free work zone. Perform physical activities: such as lift, balance, walk, stoop, handle, position, move, manipulate materials use static strength to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, carry objects up to 50lbs. Must have 12 months industrial refrigeration and anhydrous ammonia experience. No minimum education requirement. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Qualified applicants need to be able to read and write in English to follow SOPs and work orders, and to make log entries on system paperwork. Delivery and availability of seafood product from fisherman may result in possible downtimes due to weather conditions.
