Job description

Farson Farms is a row crop operation. We grow corn and soybeans. In the springtime prepare fields for planting and spray fields to control weeds, insects and fungus. During the summer we do maintenance on equipment as well as mowing and upkeep on the farm. In the fall we harvest and store our grain. Throughout the year we are moving grain to market. Job duties will include: prepare fields for planting, attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, planters, sprayers, manure spreaders, engage in planting, weeding, spraying and/or harvesting activities, fertilize, dust, and spray crops, spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers, load and unload crops or materials, manually or using conveyors, handtrucks, forklifts, or transfer augers, weigh crop-filled containers, and record weights and other identifying information, load crops and unload crops, operate equipment to harvest crops, drive pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment. Employee will need to operate equipment to prepare soil, plant and spray crop. Employee will also need to clear fence rows, trim and remove trees as needed and maintain yards and around the farm buildings.

Special Requirements

Job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, extensive sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending over, repetitive movements. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must have a regular driver's license. Require 3 months farm experience.
