Job description
Bay M Carter Farms has a blueberry operation that handles planting, spraying, grooming, and picking blueberries. Job duties will include: recording agricultural data, driving farm trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspecting, adjusting, and completing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, cleaning work areas and maintaining grounds and landscaping, directing and monitoring the work of casual and seasonal help during planting and harvesting, informing farmers or farm managers of crop progress, maintaining and repairing irrigation and climate control systems, maintaining inventory and ordering materials as required, operating tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow, and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray, and harvest crops, participating in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops, planting, spraying, weeding, fertilizing, watering, and pruning plants, shrubs, and trees using gardening tools, recording information about crops such as pesticide use, yields, or costs, recording information about plants and plant growth, repairing and maintaining farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment, repairing farm buildings, fences, and other structures, cleaning equipment or facilities, evaluating the quality of plants or crops, examining characteristics or behavior of living organisms, harvesting agricultural products, maintaining inventories of materials, equipment, or products, maintaining operational records, operating farming equipment, operating irrigation systems, packaging agricultural products for shipment or further processing, planting crops, trees, or other plants, preparing land for agricultural use, crops, or equipment, marking agricultural or forestry products for identification, packaging agricultural products for shipment or further processing. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer's discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer's discretion.
Special Requirements
Job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, extensive sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending over, repetitive movements. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must have a regular driver's license. Require 1 month farm experience.
