Job description

Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2091 Agricultural Equipment Operator such as: Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases; Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions; Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on field bound machinery; Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production (much of which is equipped with autosteer GPS) such as tractor, combine, grain cart, mower to cultivate, plant, fertilize, store, harvest crops such as soybeans, wheat; Adjust and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, planters, harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools; Operate towed machines such as seed drills, carts, or spreaders to plant, fertilize, dust, store, spray crops; Irrigate soil and maintain pipes and pumps; Assess crop condition and presence of pests or weeds; Speak and understand english.

Special Requirements

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
