In connection with “palletize ice bags for shipment and/or storage”, please note that palletize means to place/stack the ice bags on a pallet in a certain formation that makes it easier to transport and/or store the ice bags in bulk. Palletizing ice bags for shipment and/or storage only requires that the individual lift a bag of ice with their hands and place the bag in a particular direction onto the pallet. The employee will use only their hands to complete this job.

In response to your request to indicate whether the employee will load/unload pallets of ice for transportation – the workers in this position do NOT load/unload pallets of ice for transportation.

In response to your request to “explain what ice totes are” – please note that ice totes are plastic containers located under an ice machine wherein the ice falls once the production of same is complete. The ice totes hold the loose ice until it is put into bags. In response to your request as to “what the "worksite" consists of” – the worksite is the ice production plant located at 115 Production Drive, Sulphur, LA 70663. The worksite is a metal building where there are coolers, freezers, and ice machines to produce/store ice.

In response to your request regarding “the steps required in the process, as well as any equipment, machinery, tools, materials and/or products that the employee will work with” – please note that the worker will likely only use their hands and/or a shovel for packing ice. The employee will use his/her hands to palletize ice as mentioned above. When cleaning and sanitizing the ice totes and worksite, the worker will be required to use a water hose, his hands, rags, a squeegee, and other similar cleaning tools.
