Job description
We are a multi-generational family farm operating and growing corn, wheat, soybeans, sunflowers, peas, forage crops and we have pastureland. We strive to be self-sufficient and work on a large variety of jobs relevant to this operation. We need a seasonal employee to assist with all aspects of our farming operation. Employee will need to drive a tractor with a trailer to and from fields to storage locations to haul harvest crops from fields to storage. Employee will need to setup, haul, load, and unload commodities. Employee will need to operate farm equipment including tractors, sprayers, combines and various other farm implements and attachment to plant, spray, and harvest these crops. Employee will need to complete routine maintenance on equipment and farm buildings. Employee will also need to assist with calving from March until May. During this period cattle are confined and need intensive care due to cold/blizzard temperatures. During this confinement period employee will need to feed, medicate, and care for cattle and newborn calves. From May until June employees will need to repair fences and vaccinate cows/calves before they return to pastures for grazing. Per state regulations, employer is exempt from a commercial CDL requirement for farm trucking. No commercial or heavy truck driving is required.
Special Requirements
Job requires extensive walking, pushing, pulling, frequent stooping and exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures. Employer will conduct post-hire drug tests at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Employer will conduct post-hire criminal background checks at no cost to the employee and will not employ anyone with a felony/theft criminal background as required by the workplace safety policy and company HR hiring practices as allowed by law. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Job requires a regular drivers license and 3 months experience.
