Job description
Employees will participate in all associated row-cropping duties, as well as assist with daily activities of seasonal cattle. February-November: Employees must have experience with Tractors, Cutters, Planters, and Hay equipment to assist with pasture management and livestock feed (including seeding and harvesting of Cover Crops). Crop-dressing on winter feed crops occurs from Feb-Apr. Haying occurs Apr-Sep. Crop harvesting occurs May-June. Planting of crops occur in Jun-Nov. Bush-hogging and pasture maintenance occurs Jul-Oct. February-November: We need seasonal employees to assist with the cattle purchased in the Spring for fattening in the Summer months in preparation for resale in the Fall. Calving occurs between Feb-May, and weaning of calves and resale of cattle happens in Oct-Nov. Employees require experience in wrangling, treating, and sorting cattle according to different classes, and need to have experience in cattle working facilities (including chute operation). Daily activities in this time include monitoring and providing herd health, checking fences and water supply, basic maintenance and repair of fences.
Special Requirements
Row-cropping experience including equipment, knowledge about Regenerative practices, and livestock knowledge. Driver's License required. Repetitive movements, extensive sitting, walking and frequent stooping. Must have at least 3 months experience
