Farm Worker

Job description

Must have 3 months experience.
Perform any combination of the following tasks required in equipment operation, farmwork and the production of alfalfa, ryegrass, oats, and corn: assisting in irrigating crops; adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions; apply herbicides to noxious, invasive and poisonous plant species; evaluate the condition of the crop/weather and adjust harvesting activity (swathing, raking, baling, combining) based on evaluation; irrigate soil through operation of irrigation systems; maintain/drive/attach and operate farm implements/tractors/equipment to till soil, plant, cultivate, fertilize, apply chemicals and harvest crops; observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions; operate maintain and repair and operate multiple types of pumps; perform some maintenance and adjustments to implements/tractors/equipment; removal of excess plant growth from farm grounds; remove pipe from fields and place in storage; remove pipe from storage; shovel and pack dirt in low spots or cut trenches to direct water flow; use proper material and methods to repair irrigation equipment. Incidental work with sheep to include vaccinating, feeding, and watering.

The worker will live in the employer provided fixed site housing. Said housing will be clean and in good repair at the time it is provided to the employee. The employee is responsible to maintain the housing unit in a reasonable level of cleanliness in order to avoid flies, mice or other vermin. The employee is responsible to alert the employer of damage to the housing unit within a reasonable amount of time. The employee may be held accountable for damage to the housing unit that can be shown is the gross result of negligence or by a dishonest or willful act on the part of the employee (normal wear and tear excepted)

Realizar cualquier combinación de las siguientes tareas requeridas en la operación del equipo, el trabajo agrícola y la producción de alfalfa, raigrás, avena y maíz: asistir en el riego de cultivos; ajustar, reparar y dar servicio a la maquinaria agrícola y notificar a los supervisores cuando la maquinaria no funcione correctamente; aplicar herbicidas a especies de plantas nocivas, invasoras y venenosas; evaluar la condición del cultivo/clima y ajustar la actividad de cosecha (segmentación, rastrillado, empacado, combinación) según la evaluación; regar el suelo mediante la operación de sistemas de riego; mantener/conducir/conectar y operar implementos agrícolas/tractores/equipos para labrar la tierra, plantar, cultivar, fertilizar, aplicar productos químicos y cosechar cultivos; observar y escuchar el funcionamiento de la maquinaria para detectar fallas en el equipo; operar mantener y reparar y operar múltiples tipos de bombas; realizar algunos mantenimientos y ajustes a implementos/tractores/equipos; eliminación del exceso de crecimiento de plantas de los terrenos agrícolas; retire la tubería de los campos y colóquela en almacenamiento; retire la tubería del almacenamiento; palear y empacar tierra en lugares bajos o abrir zanjas para dirigir el flujo de agua; utilizar materiales y métodos adecuados para reparar los equipos de riego. Trabajo incidental con ovejas para incluir vacunación, alimentación y agua.
