Job description
Workers on this application will work on farms, performing daily chores for hog confinement and cattle production operations. Daily chores include general facility cleaning, maintenance, and hygienic upkeep of livestock and their confinement buildings. Workers will unload cattle and piglets, as well as sort and load hogs for transportation. Workers will prepare for and perform the disinfection process, abiding by the safety protocols to ensure the equipment is in efficient working order. Workers will power wash the facilities following the cleaning and disinfecting processes. Assisting with the recording and maintaining of accurate production records and documentation will be required. Workers must follow all safety policies and procedures at all times and communicate any potential hazards to the Department Lead or Manager. Workers will oversee the movement and loading of livestock for transportation. Employees may assist in vaccinating livestock if needed. Routine repair work around the farm will be expected and will include general maintenance of confinement buildings. Employees will repair fencing for cattle, unload cattle, clean cattle barns and confinement structures, replace bedding in cattle barns, and feed cattle. Workers will be operating tractors with various implements and skid loaders. Tools needed will be mostly hand tools, shovels, and spades. Please see ETA 790 Addendum for additional detail/specifics.
Special Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry 60lbs/60yds. Training provided on continual basis.
