Job description

During Spring workers will plant flowers, transplant young plants and water flowers by hand, trim and maintain flowers, restocking retail floor, clean greenhouses, move full flats and hanging baskets, plnt apple trees, and help maintain orchard. Summer duties will include pruning apple trees, trellising, working in orchard, planting vegetables starts in field, assist with laying plastic, mulch, stake vegetables, remove weeds in field, hand harvest sweet corn and other vegetables, drive tractor, package vegetables in retail bags, load, and unload trucks. Fall duties will include harvesting apples and pumpkins, washing and sorting apples, assist with pressing apple cider, helping to set up pumpkin patch, cleaning farm area, winterizing. Feed and clean pens of farm animals that are brought in for pumpkin patch during September and October. Typical work weeks are 54 hours but during peak months, workers may work up to 70 hours a week.
A drug screen will be performed upon accident or incidence and at the employer's expense.
Background checks will be conducted post-hire at the employer's expense and are required to work around children and in a general public retail setting.

Special Requirements

Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. The employer may offer additional work hours or these hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity. Use of electronic devices during work hours is restricted to emergencies only.
