Job description

Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time. Following the Supervisors instructions, the worker will fulfill the following:

Agricultural Equipment Operator: Training and assisting a team of workers on specialized farm machinery, used to plant, fertilize, irrigate and/or harvest Spring Mix Crops; train workers on specialized Spring Mix farm machinery maintenance and operation, with regard to preparation of machinery by adjusting speeds of cutters, blowers and conveyors and height of cutting head of depth of digging blades according to type, height, weight and condition of crop being harvested, and contour of terrain, evaluate, in collaboration with supervisors, fields that are required to be prepared, harvested or irrigated; drive farm equipment; assign, on a daily basis, working teams and provide advice on work to be accomplished; update reports when required; evaluate germination and population of crops; evaluate pre-harvesting screening reports to plan harvesting, irrigation and other activities related to production; caliber, maintain and adjust custom made farming equipment, manage and update material inventory; manage material and equipment transportation from one field to another, ensures farming machineries, under their responsibility, are in good condition and verify daily inspection sheets; ensure that designated personnel make major repairs; report all problematic situations to supervisors; clean machinery prior to placing them in garage; operate spray equipment, follow good agricultural practices and safe working practices; use personal protective equipment as required by employer.

Harvest Equipment Operator: The worker is to help on farm daily task. Move equipment on farm, fill water kegs with water and ice and provide to workers using harvest vehicles.

Post Harvest Clean Up: The worker will be required to pick up by hand and place the post-harvest debris throughout the production area into containers provided. This clean-up includes digging out with shovel and picking up any trash and debris.

Special Requirements

Per the Department of Labor O-Net survey for job code 45.2091, Job Zone 1, SVP <4.0, the employer requires 3 month verifiable experience.
