Job description
Workers will operate and service large tractors and equipment to cultivate and harvest cotton and grain. Climb ladders to check grain bins, will repair and maintain fences, cattle pens, gates, buildings and equipment. Will maintain farm equipment such as tire repair, wheel and plow bearings, minor welding, etc. Workers will mow, mulch, chop and spray brush; operate skid steer for brush removal and other tasks. Livestock is present on this farm, workers may handle feed but will not participate in the care of livestock.
Applicants should be competent on electronics related to GPS and rate controls, must be able to lift 50lbs regularly, be able to clearly hear and see, workers may communicate with or without line of site. Workers must have no fear of heights, 3 months of verifiable experience of grain harvesting with GPS guided equipment is required, Grain operations can be a dusty environment, workers should be aware of potential allergens and must not be allergic to dust.
Special Requirements
Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. The employer may offer additional work hours or these hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity. Use of electronic devices during work hours is restricted to emergencies only.
