Job description
Labor performed by H2A farmers may include daily husbandry of farmed deer, meat goats, meat sheep and poultry (ducks, chickens, turkeys,
guinea fowl) located on the farm's properties. Livestock husbandry responsibilities include feeding, watering and rotating animals to new paddocks or pastures. Monitoring the livestock for health reasons. Workers will also assist in trimming hooves and other seasonal maintenance including breeding, birthing and loading animals on trailers for transport to butcher, auction or sale. Deer work may include monitoring of populations, effective culling of sick animals and establishing forage food plots for grazing. Other livestock tasks may include cleaning meat processing facilities, mucking out/cleaning of livestock barns and hunting blinds on property.
Special Requirements
A driver's license is required to work on leased farm fields to graze livestock, driving on public roads is needed for this.
