Seasonal Farm Worker

Job description

This job requires tree fruit experience by the worker.
Crops: Apples, Sweet Cherries, Tart Cherries, Blueberries. Worker will not be involved in hand harvesting.
Irrigator Responsibilities:
•Operate ATV, load and unload from pickup
•Operate vehicle to and from fi eld
•Perform daily machine maintenance such as; checking fluids, fueling, and looking for loose or breaking parts
•Drive carefully, preventing accidents and damage to equipment
•Be aware of surroundings, there are many people, ladders, vehicles and other machinery in and around the orchard
•Digging is required for some pipe sprinkler and pipe repairs
•Irrigation duties will include the following: check alignment of sprinklers and adjust for proper water distribution; turn on pump; turn valves to start fl ow of water; move through freshly irrigated crops where mud may be deep at times;
•replace and repair irrigation sprinklers, pipes and related components
•Clear debris from irrigation system; disassemble, service, and store irrigation equipment after irrigation season.

Special Requirements

2) Worker must possess 3 months of tree fruit experience.
4e) Must be able to operate ATV for long periods of time
4g) Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
4h) Work may take place when temperatures are below freezing and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit
4i) May require worker to sit and/or walk for extensive periods of time.
4j) Workers will be required to stoop and/or bend over while performing farm labor duties
4k) There will be repetitive movements while performing most of the farm labor duties.
