Job description
Landscape Nursery Worker: Hauls and spreads topsoil, fertilizer, peat moss, and other materials to condition soil, using wheelbarrow or cart and shovel; digs, rakes, and screens soil and fills cold frames and hot beds to prepare them for planting; sows grass seed and installs sod; plants, sprays, weeds, and waters plants, shrubs, and trees, using hand tools and gardening tools; operates tractors and other machinery and equipment to fertilize, cultivate, harvest, and spray fields and plants; installs and repairs drip irrigation lines; moves containerized shrubs, plants, and trees by hand or using wheelbarrow; traps and destroys pests, such as moles, gophers, and mice; ties, bunches, wraps roots, and packs flowers, plants, shrubs, and trees; unloads and loads B&B and potted trees and shrubs from semi-trailers; cleans work areas and vehicles, and maintains grounds and landscaping. Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. Most duties are performed out- of-doors and entail exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust, rain, wind and snow. Must be able to bend and stoop frequently, with extensive walking. Must have a minimum of 3 months of experience. Driving required on Ranch Only
