Job description
We have a row crop farming operation where we farm 2000-acres of peanuts, cotton, corn, and hay. We need seasonal employees to assist with our crop farming operation. Employees will need to assist with all aspects of raising these crops including planting, raising, harvesting, and hauling the crops. Employees will need to do all general farm practices associated with annual row crops and assist with our seasonal hay production. Employees will also need to assist with farm upkeep and maintenance including repairing and maintaining perimeter fence. Employees will need to complete routine repairs and maintenance on equipment. A & L Payne Farms commits to providing performance bonuses. A 5% performance bonus paid 50% at midpoint of contract and 50% at end of contract. Communicate upon arrival at beginning of contract. A & L Payne Farms has no real sick leave policy, per say. Just committed to take care of employees if sick (i.e. doctor, meds and support). Will communicate up front in beginning of contract the policy of 4 hours every biweekly pay period of 40 hours per week accruing up to 80 hours paid sick leave. A&L Payne Farms may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
Special Requirements
Job requires extensive sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, repetitive movements, frequent stooping, and exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Job requires a regular drivers license and 3 months experience.
