Job description
Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops such as working with bins and augers to load carts and trailers; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) such as combine, planter, tillage tool to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as wheat, hay; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, load crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags; Attend to live farm animals including cattle such as feeding, checking, processing, calving, weaning; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Attach implements using hand tools; Must be able to speak and understand English.
Special Requirements
Be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat, humidity, wind, cold. Lift and carry supplies. Follow instructions. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license within 30 days following hire and obtain clean driving record to be able to operate company vehicle. Lift up to 50 lbs.
