Job description

Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Assist with cultivating, planting, and harvesting grain and oilseed crops such as wheat, soybeans, milo; Set up, repair, maintain, move, and operate irrigation equipment; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Trap and destroy pests such as moles, gophers, and mice; Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Attend to live farm animals including cattle and sheep such as vaccinating, ear tagging supplementing with feed, birthing herding, cleaning; Construct, repair trellises; Tie up vines; Weed vineyard, mow/trim grass, preen vines, spray chemicals, pick grapes, winterize vines; Speak and understand english.

Special Requirements

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
