Job description

Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment. Drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Till soil; plant and cultivate grain. The H2A worker drives a tractor to disc and till up the soil. They will also assist in irrigating the crops by laying out poly pipe, poking holes, and digging rice spills. The job consists of driving a tractor with a grain cart to harvest the grain. They will fill up the planters with seed. Also, fill the irrigation power units with fuel as well as the tractors. The H2A job consists mainly in assisting in those areas. Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools or farm workers.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employers expense due to the liability of operating equipment. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Overtime and taking holiday is mandatory. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
