Job description
Job requires participating in irrigation activities including laying pipe, walking length of irrigation pipe to puncture it at set intervals, setting up and operating irrigation equipment, operating well motors, and monitoring fields to check on and maintain adequate water supply to crops; mowing; weed eating; using hand tools to remove undesirable plant varieties, trash, and other objects from fields; performing general maintenance, repairs and/or clean-up of storage sheds, buildings, barns and all farm equipment; ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained; using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean and maintain farm vehicles, machinery, specialized machinery and agricultural equipment; regularly servicing equipment; and picking up farm parts for the employer when necessary. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
Special Requirements
Extreme temperatures include heat and cold as well as rainfall. Job duties will require worker to push, pull, sit, walk, stoop, bend over, and perform repetitive movements. Workers must be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire and have 3 months of experience. Basic English literacy and math skills are required.
