Job description
Workers will Plant, pot, cultivate and harvest various types of plants, herbs, flowers that grow in the farm field, nursery or greenhouse. Work includes pinching, pruning, fertilizing, watering, rooting, weeding, loading, potting, transporting, discarding, rotating, grading, storing, and transplanting annuals, perennials, vegetable plants, herbs, and hanging flower baskets per the supervisors instructions. Haul and spread fill-sand to maintain greenhouse floors, using wheelbarrows or carts and shovels. Tag trays; assemble trays, pots and caged pots and hanging baskets. Workers will push and heavy rolling carts; lay down and pick up seed flats for delivery or transplant. Load and unload racks. Fold and staple corrugated forms to make boxes used for packing horticultural products; Clean and sanitize work areas. Work in a standing, fast-paced environment for long periods of time during peak season. Workers will load and unload trucks and prepare greenhouse products for sale. Workers will clean, organize and maintain nursery, greenhouse, farm buildings, grounds and landscaping. Workers will assist with farm building and field maintenance, repair fences, and/or repair or cover hoop houses. Employees may be asked to perform irrigation activities such as placing irrigation pipes and fittings. Workers will be required to dig and prepare ground to remove broken or damaged poles and install new poles and plastic (Hoop Houses). Work will also include mechanized fieldwork using power equipment. By way of example and not limitation power equipment may include tractors, planters, sprayers, cultivators, mowers, UTV's and other equipment.

Employer reserves the right to terminate a worker if the employer reasonably finds worker's performance during the trial period to be unacceptable. Employer reserves the right to discharge an obviously unqualified worker, malingerer or recalcitrant worker who is physically able but is unwilling to perform the work necessary for the employer to grow a premium quality product, or for any other lawful reason.
The employer may discipline the worker, including brief suspension of work activities/employment for a set period determined by the supervisor or termination of employment.
