Job description
Job requires the operation of various tractors and farm equipment to till soil; work ground; prepare and
maintain land; and plant, irrigate, fertilize, spray, cultivate, harvest, and transport crops to elevator or storage
area. Equipment that workers may be required to operate includes, but is not limited to, tractors with various
implements, sprayers, combines, back-hoes, mowers, track-hoes. Non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with
agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities. Job also requires performing general
maintenance, repairs and/or clean-up of storage sheds, pivot points, buildings, gates, barns and all farm
equipment; ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained; using hand tools and equipment to
repair, clean and maintain farm vehicles, machinery and specialized machinery and agricultural equipment;
regularly servicing equipment; receiving crop for drying and storage at grain storage facility; disposing of
spoiled grain; transporting grain from fields to grain bins; loading and unloading grain into trucks while
keeping grain level; operating augers and grain conveying equipment; monitoring grain moisture levels;
preparing scale tickets; recording data in shipping and weighing logs; and shoveling grain. There are few
typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various
general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer
reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other
factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
Special Requirements
The job requires extensive sitting or walking during planting and harvest seasons. Workers must be able to lift and carry items like seed bags, fuel jugs, and other daily supplies, with a lifting requirement of up to 50 pounds.
Moderate cell phone use is allowed, but only for work-related purposes. Personal use during work hours is not permitted.
Applicants must provide an employment reference and have a three-year clean driving record for insurance purposes, especially if operating vehicles or machinery.
