Job description
Employees will drive tractors and operate towing equipment, drills, disks, and drags to furrow and prepare the soil, seed, and fertilize such as corn and millet. Crops are raised for forage for the Livestock. They will cut, rake, and bale the millet and alfalfa to relocate the bales to the farm for the winter months. Employees will truck materials, supplies or crops to designated locations either for storage on the farm or local elevators. Minor maintenance will need to be done on all equipment, structures, and grounds including snow removal. Workers will help with the calving of the cattle herd and care of the animals. Employees must be able to work independently after being given instructions, must be self-motivated, and be team player when needed.
Employees must have a valid driver's license or be capable of obtaining one in 30 days.
Cell phone usage is limited to business-related calls only. NO TEXTING.
No smoking in housing unit, machinery or vehicles. No drinking of alcoholic beverages during working hours is otherwise discouraged.
No Educational level is required. Cattle experience is necessary as well as fixing existing fences.
Must have three months of tractor driving with towed implements and operate computerized scale monitors installed in Tractors and feeder wagons to feed cattle.
