Job description
Performs duties like: Drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil, plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. General lubrication, service (check fluids) and mechanical repair to farm machinery. Transports produce, water and supplies to fields, elevator and/or storage. Per state regulations, the employer is exempt from a commercial CDL requirement for farm trucking. No commercial or heavy truck driving that requires CDL is required. The farmer will allocate adequate breaks as determent by local and federal regulations. Operator License Class D – Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Employment may be terminated for the following reasons: Repeated absenteeism or tardiness, Violation of safety protocols, Failure to perform job duties satisfactorily, Misconduct or insubordination and Substance abuse on the job and operating machinery and vehicles.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain.
