Job description

Operating large farm equipment in connection with the production of grain and oilseed crops; operating large farm equipment for the cultivating, planting, fertilizing, spraying, irrigating, and harvesting of grain and oilseed crops, such as, but not limited to, corn, cotton, rice, soybeans, wheat, and other crops; perform manual labor in connection with growing said grains and oilseed crops; lift, load, and unload heavy (75lbs) bags of seed, feed, fertilizer, and chemical containers; install and remove levy gates and tarp on irrigation splash board risers in rice and other flooded crops; check irrigated fields daily for proper drainage and flooding; maintain irrigation pumps and motors during growing season and winterize at end of growing season; use shovels throughout the season for proper drainage of fields; receive grain and oilseed crops for drying and storage at grain bins and other grain storage facilities; clean out grain bins and other grain storage facilities; clean, organize, and maintain shop and other work areas; dispose of spoiled grain from pit and elevator are around grain storage facilities; chop and weed-eat weeds in fields and shop yard; clear and maintain irrigation ditches; bushhog and clip turnrows; daily maintenance on equipment, machinery, buildings, and fences; operate pickup truck to obtain repairs and supplies. May have to work during the night and on most weekends. Employer may request, but will not require, workers to work on their Sabbath.

Special Requirements

Workers must have 3 hours of verified 100+ HP tractor operation experience.
