Job description
Employees will drive tractors and operate towing equipment, drills, disks, and drags to furrow and prepare the soil, seed, and fertilize such as corn and millet. Crops raised for forage for the animals will need to be cut, raked, and baled. They will drive trucks to deliver materials, supplies, or harvested crops to storage on the farm or the local elevator. All crops hauled are the property of the employer and there is no commercial hauling and no CDL driving. Minor maintenance will need to be done on all equipment, structures, and grounds. Workers will help with the calving of the cattle herd and care of the animals. They will operate tractors with towed implements to cut, rake, and bale forage for the cattle. All forage will have to be moved home for the winter food supply. Employees must be able to work independently after being given instructions, must be self-motivated, and be team players.
Employees must have a valid driver's license or be capable of obtaining one in 30 days.
Cell phone usage is limited to business-related calls only. NO TEXTING.
No smoking in housing units, machinery, or vehicles. No drinking of alcoholic beverages during working hours is otherwise discouraged.
No Educational level is required. Cattle experience is necessary as well as fixing existing fences around the farm yard and in pastures.
Must have three months of tractor driving with towed implements and operate computerized scale monitors for feeding cattle.
