Job description
Employees will operate large machinery to till, plant and harvest corn, wheat, alfalfa and sorghum. Employees will do field work to prepare fields. Employees will also need to work on irrigation pumps, pivots and lagoons to assist with irrigating crops where needed. Spray weeds by hand and with machinery. Employees will work long hours including weekends when needed. Employees will need to complete routine repairs and maintenance on equipment and irrigations systems. Starting in October we now harvest our own silage and we bought additional locations. The silage season will require employees to stay until December. During this time, employees also will operate silage choppers, packing tractors, and haul silage with tractors and wagons. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
Special Requirements
Job requires extensive sitting, pushing, pulling, walking, frequent stooping, repetitive movements and exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures. Employer will conduct post-hire drug tests at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Must have a regular drivers license.
