Job description

Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. Unload materials, lay out lumber, pre-fab steel panels, tin sheets and siding, trusses, and other components for building structures. Build and erect walls and trusses. Lift tin sheets and siding to roof and walls, install doors, and caulk structure. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials. May assist other craft workers. Tend to pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment or to heat or move materials, such as asphalt. Lubricate, clean, or repair machinery, equipment, or tools. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials. Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed. Position, join, align, or seal structural components, such as metal wall sections or pipes. Raze buildings or salvage useful materials. Position or dismantle forms for the building foundations, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts. Additionally, workers are required to remove worn, damaged, or outdated materials, clean debris from work areas, and clean or perform maintenance on equipment.

Special Requirements

Three (3) months of construction experience required. Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs for 75 yards. Must pass random post-employment drug test. May occasionally work on Saturdays.
