Job description
Job requires operating tractors, sprayers, skid steer loaders and other farm equipment to till soil, plant, cultivate, irrigate, fertilize, and harvest crops; non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities; operating equipment for field maintenance; performing work with grain bins in the form of running grain vacuums, grain sweeps, loading grain into trucks, shoveling grain, and perform housekeeping duties to ensure that storage locations are properly maintained; and operating equipment for upkeep of the shop grounds such as mowers. Manual labor in the form of sweeping and upkeep of farm shop areas, performing miscellaneous maintenance and repair, performing upkeep of areas around the farm, using hand tools and equipment to repair farm equipment and facilities will be required. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
Special Requirements
Applicant must have, or be able to obtain, a driver's license within 30 days of hire. A criminal background check or drug screen may be possible post-hire at the employer's expense. This testing could possibly be done at the sole discretion of the employer to ensure the safety of the workers and equipment employed and owned by the employer. Drug testing may be possible post-hire at the sole discretion of the employer to ensure that safety of the employees and public. The consequence of failing the drug test is immediate termination. The job will require lifting 50 lbs.
