Job description

Job duties include operating various farm equipment to plant, spray, irrigate, harvest, and transport crops to the storage area. Equipment that employees will operate includes but is not limited to tractors with various implements, self propelled sprayers, combine, cotton pickers, forklift, backhoe, trackhoe, bulldozer, ATV, and pickup trucks. Non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities. Duties also include repairing equipment; farm and shop work; welding; cutting; working irrigation-furrow and center pivots; performing mechanical repair and maintenance on equipment such as changing oil and filters; and general cleaning such as washing equipment and vehicles, sweeping floors, and working on grain bins. Employees will perform manual labor such as loading chemicals and seed; removing weeds from fields by hand; performing upkeep and maintenance in every aspect of the farm buildings, equipment and facilities; cleaning; sweeping; weed eating; mowing; laying poly pipe and poking holes in it; changing tires and ball gears on pivots; and using chainsaws. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.

Special Requirements

Employees must be able to lift 100 pounds; must have or be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire; 3 months of experience; and basic English literacy skills.
